How
Well Do You
Really Know Your Fiancé?
The
hostess of the party creates a listing of questions to present
to the groom. He answers them all in writing before the
party. That same list without the answers is presented to
all the guests as well as the bride to guess at the party.
Whoever gets the most right wins. It's fun to see just how
many the bride does NOT know!
Silly
Rings
Buy
a bunch of silly rings before the party. (found in the kid's
party good section, party/decorating type stores, carnival
goods, dollar stores, gum machines, etc). Before the party,
put all the rings in a big bowl. As the guests arrive, have
them choose a ring and put it on. Tell them that the bride
and groom may not be called by their names during the party,
as they will be referred to "bride" or "groom".
If someone catches another guest calling them by their name,
they get to choose one ring from the person's hand. At the
end of the party, she who has the most rings wins!
Sound
Advice
Have
the guests write down on a piece of paper, or cut out construction
paper hearts what advice they would most like to give the
bride. Perhaps it might be "Never go to bed mad"
or "Don't assume he to changed the oil in your car".
Have the bride read them all off at the party. It's a great
keepsake for the bride as well!
Oh,
This Is So Nice!
Before
the party, create a story of the honeymoon. Leave blanks
on where the bride and groom may have exclamations. While
the bride is opening her gifts, descreetly give one of the
guests the job of writing down what people are saying about
the gifts. "Oh, this is so big", "I need
one of these!", "What a pretty color", etc.
After the gift giving, take those exclamations and fill
them into the story that was pre-written, then read it outloud
to the bride and guests.
Not
The Typical Memory Game
Announce
to the guests that you will be having a memory game. Have
a guest walk a tray of items around very slowly to each
person. When they are done, tell them that within ?? minutes
they have to write down everything they can remember about...what
the person holding the tray was wearing. Have the person
stay around the corner until the time is up.
What
Do You Carry?
Before
the party, the hostess makes a list of typical purse contents.
(lipstick, family photos, nail clippers, aspirin, etc) Each
item has one point assigned, or a different point value,
the choice is yours. Read off the list, each person gets
those points for each item they carry. The person with the
most points at the end wins.
How
Well Do You
Really Know The Bride?
Have
questions pre-printed on paper that are passed out at the
party. (What is your favorite color, What will the bride
name her first child, where did she meet the groom, favorite
sport, what sock does she put on first, etc) Everyone answers
them, including the bride. Set a time limit for answering,
when time is up, read off the bride's answers. The person
who gets the most correct wins the game.
Wait...I
Know That One!
Put
different herbs in individual cups, styrofoam works best
because it is opaque, place tin foil over the top with a
hole poked in the middle. Write a number on the side of
the glass with a marking pen. One by one, pass the cups
around, the guests write the number with the herb they guess
on a piece of paper. The most guessed is the winner.
